Musical Fairytales is a must for those with a taste for classical. Inspired by fairytales, this orchestral concert will see the illustrious Queensland Symphony Orchestra perform Tchaikovsky’s ‘Sleeping Beauty’, Strauss’ ‘Fairytales from the Orient’, Prokofiev’s ‘Cinderella’, and Rimsky-Korsakov’s ‘Scheherazade’. Embrace the magic of fairytales with this enchanting orchestral performance at HOTA on May 4.

Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow
The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow is the funniest comedy roadshow in Australia, regularly touring Australia’s biggest cities, and this 2018 it’s back on the Gold Coast. Laughter will be brought in abundance by some of the best comedians and comedy acts in the country, and it’s perfect for all ages and tastes. Enjoy this incredible evening of nonstop laughter at HOTA on May 13.

Dancing on the Green
Now’s your chance to let loose! Dance like no-one’s watching with Dancing on the Green at the brand new HOTA outdoor stage and parkland. A dance-worthy lineup of of DJs and live bands will perform everything from salsa music to club sounds. Don’t miss Dancing on the Green on May 19 at HOTA.

Static Monsters World Championships 2018
The Static Monsters World Championships returns for its fourth event. The famous Log Press and Axle Deadlift events will be tackled once again by more than 60 athletes from 9 countries. A total of 8 weight classes will go ahead, featuring both women’s and men’s events. See who takes home the title this May 20 at HOTA.

The Tempest
One of Shakespeare’s most well-loved plays comes to HOTA this 2018. The Tempest needs no introduction, and is still one of the most performed plays of all time in theatres across the globe. Don’t miss it at HOTA from May 23 to May 26.

The Spirit of Churaki
The Spirit of Churaki is an unmissable music show that will celebrate and honour the Gold Coast’s first-ever surf lifesaver, Churaki. It’s a heroic story that’s still widely unknown, and The Spirit of Churaki aims to change that with a big lineup of surf rock performances including famous names and well-loved local artists.
