Come to the 2nd Annual Gold Coast Festival of Cycling and experience free live entertainment, amusement rides and trade shows for two days.

Created by Robbie McEwen – a former professional road bicycle racer, BMX champion now the creator of world class cycling events – the Gold Coast Festival of Cycling is a family-oriented weekend of fun festivities.

Robbie even designed his very own “Gran Fondo as presented by Ausenco” – one of the most beautiful and challenging rides in Australia.

The ride will take participants on a 107 km loop from Carrara’s Metricon Stadium through Nerang onto Oxenford. Then, prepare for a 6 km climb to Mt Tamborine’s Eagle Heights.

The second climb is at Beechmont plateau. A long descent down to the valley below completes the run to the finish where you will find yourself at Emerald Lakes.

If you find this course intense, feel free to choose the less challenging Piccolo Fondo which takes you to the flatter 50 km roads while immersing yourself in the stunning foothills of Beechmont.

A fun run is also included and ideal for active families and kids who want to run through a 1 km Bolt. A 5 km or 10 km run is available for adults. This course is set to circle the community of Emerald Lakes. Don’t forget to take in the area’s gorgeous views, waterways and iconic European style village.

Other activities include the Cycling Expo, the Metricon Stadium Criterium, the Food & Wine Festival.

A Kids Active Zone allows kids to specialize in fitness all while having fun. Enjoy tug of war, sack races, three legged races, volleyball and more.

The Gold Coast Festival of Cycling will take place during the middle of the school holidays on September 28 to 29, 2013 at Metricon Stadium

Nerang-Broadbeach Rd Carrara QLD 4211. The venue is a short drive from our Surfers Paradise Accommodation Apartments.
